Yoga Day Celebration - 2019

The
Theme for International Yoga Day 2019 which is “Climate Action”! Yoga is about
awakening, it’s an ancient physical, mental and spiritual practice that
originated in India. The word ‘yoga’ derives from Sanskrit and means to join or
to unite, symbolizing the union of body and consciousness. “Vishva Yoga Divas-
WORLD YOGA DAY” got declared to be celebrated on June 21stsince its inception in 2015. The day was chosen
as it’s the longest day of the calendar year, a day connected with Sun, light
and nature and not a day of personal importance.
Our college had celebrated “International Yoga day” on 21st
June 2019.All the participants and teachers assembled in the Ishwar Vijay Hall
to celebrate yoga day at 8.00 am to 9.30 am, so as to ensure that the practice
session is conducted in the most conducive manner even for the novice
participant.
Faculties narrated the usefulness of Meditation, Pranayaams,
Asanas & Yoga Nidra for the overall wellbeing of a human being and
precautionary measure in curing many Diseases. Yoga develops strength,
concentration and inner peace. Audio visuals added value to the event; Active
participation of students had made this event successful.
