FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMM ON IPR

College of Commerce & Economics; M.R. Nathwani College of Arts Organizes
Faculty Development Programme On Intellectual Property Rights & Extension
Education on 29th March 2019 at 2.00 p.m. – 4.00 p.m.
The workshop aimed to provide the basic information and
awareness on IPR spectrum from innovation to commercialization. The experts
discussed the present scenario of IPR in academics. Advocate Rubina Rizvi
Madam, Director of Rizvi group, inaugurated the session. Principal Dr.Jitendra
Aherkar addressed the gathering about the agenda of the event.
The target audiences were faculty members from various
departments; from various colleges. This workshop covered different topics of
IPR from its introduction to the best practices of IP Cell in educational
institutions by renounced speakers.
The key topics that had been covered during the workshop
were mainly: – Basics of IPR & The System of
protection of Patents in India , An
Overview on Copyright Registration & Trademark Protection etc.
Active interaction of participants had
made this event successful. Prof. SonaliShiralkar, ended the session
with vote of thanks.
Industrial visit
To
add value to the curriculum; College has organized Industrial Visit -a study
tour for the students to the Winery in GOA from
16th Feb 2019- 20th Feb 2019.The students were taken on the study tour to
reinforce the classroom teachings and to give them a first-hand experience of
the wine making process and other relevant operations.
At
theWinery, they were able to see and experience the vineyards, the different
types of grapes grown there and the machinery and equipment used for making
wine.
They
were explained the methodology of making wines in detail by the experts at the
winery and administrative work. A wine tasting session was also conducted and
the students were explained how to taste a wine and the different criteria by
which to
rate a wine. Wine has always been popular in Europe and other parts of the
world and is now becoming a popular drink in India. The climate and soil of the
GOA region is very conducive to the growth of
vines. Some of the wines produced here have attained international fame
and have won international awards. The students were very happy with their
experience and returned with a better knowledge and understanding of wines
and Business processing & other strategies of industry.
With
Industrial visit students have enjoyed at Goa, as they visited Bagha beach,
various sports activities in sea, wonderful churches; they have experience
beautiful evening on Cruize. Studes have an interactive sessions with
foreigners, DG party for enjoyment and Unique shopping- which includes antique
ornaments and decorative material and obviously Goan sweets, cashew. Over all
it was memorable journey for everyone with enriching experience.
ORIENTATION & PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT SEMINAR
On 3rd August, 2018 Our
college had conducted a personality development seminar for all the FY
students. The girls were in conversation with Prof. ShilpiDey in regards to
grooming, presentation and communication skills. The seminar started with
introduction of themselves and why they selected a particular stream.
Prof. Shilpi Dey explained
the girls how to identify their strengths and weaknesses. Madam also told girls
to try everything in which they are interested so that they get clarity on what
they actually enjoy doing. Madam also highlighted the importance of good
communication skills and personality impact. She explained students that having
few good words in their vocabulary can transform the entire conversation
largely. In addition, she asked students to develop a right body posture and
told them to be comfortable in their own skin in order to make an impact
wherever they go. The next day,
Prof. Sonali Shiralkar
conducted the seminar where she explained the students on important qualities
like being soft spoken, kind and considerate. She advised the students to
remain focused and to continuously be hungry for learning. She told students to
groom themselves with skills like computer knowledge, soft skills and right
vocabulary. This seminar was very helpful to girls as it is a much-needed topic
for budding children. This seminar was very useful for the girls and they were
highly motivated and inspired to be ready to face the future. The students
enjoyed this seminar as they got an opportunity to learn something fruitful.

We are happy to
share this report with you.; Our innovative bachelor’s programme in Bachelor of
Accountancy B.Com & BAF Departmentis facilitated by effective learning
environment enriched by face‐to‐face faculty mentoring and coaching. Our is Girls College
affiliated to university of Mumbai which supports Women Empowerment. This year
department has 181 students for the first year, 155 students for second year
and 149 students for third year.
The corner stone of
any department is its faculty. We draw on the resources of
our own regular faculty, as well as visiting faculty from the Industry, to
offer quality business education Students of the department excelled in
academics and in extra‐curricular activities
. Many students are
doing internship with companies to get practical knowledge of business
activities. We thus encourage our students to take active interest in various
extra‐curricular and
social activities. This includes sports and games, seminars, workshops and
debates.
In this academic year 2018-19, students from
BAF batch 2018-19 namedHARSHA MANDAVKAR & ROSSEL FROM TYBAF, have also
performed well in many sports, co curricular& extracurricular activities.
PAYAL SARKAR- FYBAF got placement with synoptic technologies. ANJALI POPAT
& BANSI actively participated in DLLE- UDAAN festival 2018-19.

Department have arranged session on Interview
skills for second & third year students. Students showed active
participation many Intercollgiate activities. Students have actively
participated in “Swattch Bharat Abhiyaan” in following activities & made it
a grand success, like:

Asst. Prof. Suryaprakash Singh has also
attended Half day faculty development pregamme on –“teacher –learner mindset” A seminar was conducted a very comprehensive
view on GST. This being a very important topic was addressed very calmly and
tactfully. Department had conducted a personality development
seminar for all the FY students.
The girls were in conversation with Prof. ShilpiDey in regards to
grooming, presentation and communication skills. TY Students have attended workshop
organized by PEARL academy &, All TY
students are been trained by Technoserve professionals for their better career
and job opportunities, which will be helpful for their better future.
An industrial visit to Goa was organized by B.L.Amlani
college from 16th FEB 2019 to 20th FEB 2019.Around hundred Students of B.L.amlani College had visited kala ghoda
Festival on 8th Feb 2018.We hope the year 2018-19 will bring in better
opportunities. We aim to inspire and demonstrate our experience.
